Amy is a master of the sight-size technique.
A technique that teaches your eye to objectively observe, rather than to just subjectively receive.
This means that all of Amy's work has all the emotion and realism of the subject whilst maintaining the strokes that define each piece as a painting.
Amy paints sight-size portraiture, whereby the sitter is observed at a distance alongside the canvas. It is as a form of impressionism. Painting is poetry to Amy, an eloquent description of the subject, expressed through considered and deliberate brush-strokes. To pose for a portrait is an experience for both the subject and artist, and is incomparable to painting from a photograph.
All work featured on this site is available for purchase.
Amy accepts 10 private commissions per year. These commissions are for portraiture, still life or landscape.
Amy paints quickly and expressively. The minimum sitting time for a portrait is one hour, longer for larger pieces.
Amy has been resident and will also consider artist in residencies across the globe.
